The project
A nostalgic icon represents many powerful feelings to fans. BACK TO THE FUTURE is such an iconic piece of pop-culture cinema and at its core is the time travel machine: Gullwing doors, stainless steel body panels, with tech that feels like it was fashioned in a Silicon Valley startup garage. These are just its parts; as a whole, the DeLorean DMC-12 time machine is so much more. It’s instantly recognizable and adored.
Back on a Tuesday, I sent an email to Michael Chance, a visionary film-maker & director, dedicated to crafting meaningful stories through stunning visuals and characters. This email contained one image: a fully rendered and re-imagined Back to the Future time machine. The internet froze… For Chance it did. He fired back with, “This needs to be a movie!” Just days later, VFX guru and Chance’s long-time collaborator Jesse Boots came aboard. This trinity forged a new flux capacitor of creativity and across the expanse of 2015 to now they have come together to fashion a homage teaser film project staring Dayo Okeniyi, and titled FUTURE IS BACK.
I like the subdued yet fascinating add-ons to the vehicle’s virgin surface!
